Assignment 1

    Based on publicly available data provided by the Hong Kong government, I selected three types of public facilities: police stations, fire stations, and hospitals, combined with the population of Hong Kong, to generate this map. As the population increases, the number of police stations, fire stations, and hospitals will increase relatively, mostly concentrated in the central and southern regions. Using GIS can provide a detailed view of the distribution of such facilities in various regions, as well as the organization of activities by any institution in the future, allowing for faster emergency rescue plans. From the perspective of industrial planning, using this map can also quickly identify areas with smaller populations or areas with lower distribution of such facilities, making it more convenient as new development areas.
